Senior year: time to soak in all of the memories you have made with people who have known you since kindergarten while also preparing for a new, independent chapter of your life. There are so many emotions! I think it is so special to commemorate senior year with portraits. How many moms still have decades old senior portraits hanging in their homes? I know my grandmother does!

We started Emily’s senior portraits at a tiny greenhouse in Gallatin, Roger’s Garden Center. Not only did we find some pretty light, but we also bumped into a cute old warehouse. Old walls and abandoned buildings are one of my favorite places to shoot.

After visiting Roger’s, we worked our way over to downtown Gallatin and walked around The Square. Emily’s gorgeous eyeshadow just had to be showcased and I found the perfect wall to do so. Just look how that gold accentuates her beautiful eyes!

Towards the end of our session, the wind picked up but man, it was perfect timing. Emily got cozy in her grey sweater and let that wind showcase her long hair. I love these snuggly pictures we took in the ally way. Her creamy skin just pops right off of those dark brick walls!

Emily’s grey sweater with these neutral walls showcase how gorgeous she is. When it comes to portraits, I think simplicity shifts the focus straight to the individual. In this case, that is exactly what we needed! Portraits of this lovely lady are so much better than distracting colors, backgrounds, and props.

Emily, thanks so much for letting me share such a special part of senior year with you! I know there are great things to come in the next several months but soak up the remainder of your senior year and have a blast!
