Sunny, a high of 60 degrees, the historic Church of the Assumption, and two people in love. Cresta and Drew’s Nashville wedding day was perfect.

Like any good love story, Cresta and Drew’s relationship began in an unexpected way. While traveling to the Gulf with different friend groups, Cresta and Drew just so happened to “match” on an app while passing each other on the interstate. They had no connections, no history, and likely no way of meeting each other except this random chance of passing each other on the road. Some might say it was luck, but others will agree that God had a plan for Drew and Cresta to meet, even if it took unexpected means.

Thankfully this random chance led to a wonderful relationship full of friendship and laughter. A relationship we witnessed becoming one as Cresta and Drew said, “I do” in front of family and friends. The historic Church of the Assumption, full of ornate details, beautiful music, and expectant friends, was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony. Readings from close friends and family, blessings from the Priest, and gorgeous singing celebrated the occasion. The beauty and seriousness of marriage’s unique and holy blessing was sensed by all.

But as we all know, the seriousness of marriage is also paired with great joy. Cresta and Drew’s fiesta reception gave everyone a chance to celebrate their union through delicious Mexican food and plenty of dancing. Custom cups, glow sticks, and excited couples filled the room. I so enjoyed experiencing this momentous day with Cresta and Drew, but I also loved interacting with their families. I was struck by how two families were literally becoming one. Both mother and mother-in-law, joined together to help the bride get ready and to assist guests. Cresta and Drew’s siblings mingled with guests and helped bring flowers, food, or water to those who needed it. I was even offered food and drink multiple times throughout the day by their loving families. With such generous families behind them, I know Cresta and Drew’s married life will continue to grow in gratitude and love.

Congratulations to this beautiful couple! I am honored to have been a part of their joyful wedding day, and I cannot wait to see what is to come.
